RIB
RACING TREASURE HUNTS
|

What Is Rib Racing?
Nothing
comes close to the excitement and fun of a Rib Treasure Hunt. The Ribs are an
adrenaline high, thrilling experience for both novices and experienced sailors
alike. A Rib Treasure Hunt is an excellent way of placing groups, whether small
or large, into a focused but fun team building environment. Rib Treasure Hunt
teams have both land and sea clues to be solved in several locations. The teams
are issued with a boat and skipper, maps, charts, clues, stop watches, Polaroid
cameras, and tasks to complete. The winning team will have best grasped the value
of allocating and completing tasks according to team members' strengths and weaknesses
as well as showing the greatest creativity.

The Itinerary The
meeting point is the Yacht Haven Marina in Lymington at 10.00am (or 11.00am November
- April), where there is ample free parking. Tea and coffee is served on the balcony
of the first floor Bistro, allowing guests to enjoy the superb views of the Western
Solent whilst waiting for the whole party to arrive. After
a comprehensive safety briefing, the guests form teams and are taken down to the
moorings to 'kit up' for sea. Each team will be issued with a stopwatch, Polaroid
camera, charts, maps of various ports, a series of questions and a list of tasks
to achieve. We
then head out into the Solent whilst each team plans its strategy with a little
help from the skipper during the 'buoy to buoy' navigation challenge.

|
Lunch
will be served on the balcony of a famous Yacht club overlooking the Solent. The
teams compete for points, which are skewed heavily towards those who show both
teamwork and creativity. The photographs are particularly important, as are the
various home-made items that you will need to have ready for the final prize giving
- an event not to be missed! Medals
are awarded to all members of the winning team and then the outdoor undercover
bar opens for drinks prior to departure. You will arrive back to The Yacht Haven
Marina in Lymington no later than 5.30pm (or 4.30pm November - April) This
Event can be run from the departure point of your choice from most moorings in
the Solent. | |
