Jamie Norris

Warehouse Assistant

What does your role entail?
My role in the warehouse is to keep technical kit quality to a high standard, to ensure it runs smoothly onsite. When I’m not prepping kit, or returning kit back to the shelf, you can normally find me fixing cables, or keeping the warehouse clean and tidy.

Where did you work before joining the Firebird Team?
I worked at a company called Anna Valley, who did full 360 production in TV, Events and Virtual Production. I worked within the camera team managing the equipment, operating and building outside broadcasting vans for Studio Lambert’s ‘Gogglebox’.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love film making and photography. I love being behind a camera, but sometimes I sit in front of a camera and make videos for YouTube about cars and tech.

How did your career start in events?
I fell into it really. A friend of mine was working in a kit room and got me a job at the same place! I was going to dip my toe in events, but now I’m fully submerged!

What are your three favourite things?
They’re more living beings than things, but my partner and my two cats. They bring me joy and drive me to work hard every day on my dreams and passions.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Always try to give 100%. On the days where you can only give 70%, give 100% of that 70%.

How would your friends describe you?
They would describe me as someone who is outgoing, caring and passionate. Sometimes a bit mental (in good way!), but I thank my ADHD for that!

What are you passionate about?
Cars, cameras and gaming! I’ve spent a good part of my life being surrounded by these things and I’m typically doing something to do with at least one of them every day. I’m also a big advocate of support for neurodivergent people, being neurodivergent myself.

What is your most prized possession?
It would have to be either my vintage film cameras I inherited from my late grandfather, or a ring my partner bought me which I wear most days. I also have a guitar pick that was used by James Hetfield from Metallica on their ‘M72 World Tour’!

Five words to describe what Jamie brings to the team:
Fun, motivation, support, reliability and kindness.
