On Friday 19th October 2018 we hosted our ‘very own’ bespoke Enchanted Forest themed event to showcase our party services to a selection of hand-picked agencies and venues - WOW what a night it was!
Held at the stunning Coworth Park in Ascot, the event was a rather intimate affair for 80 guests, including a drinks reception, sumptuous dinner and of course some fabulous entertainment! We really wanted to showcase ‘what we can do’ and the format of the evening allowed us to network with those that perhaps didn’t know the full extent of our services, with a member of the Firebird team each hosting a table over dinner.
As guests arrived, they walked down the curved staircase and into our Enchanted Forest. The Events Lobby was transformed with an enormous fairy lit oak tree, toadstool seating area, large candle lit lanterns, forest creatures peeping out from behind logs and of course there just had to be an element of surprise, with hidden tree people ‘appearing’ from amongst the foliage… Watching guests’ reactions as our ‘tree folk’ emerged from the walls and tumbled down the corridor was just fabulous!
Guests selected their magic key revealing their table number for dinner and then made their way through the secret door, leading to a fairy lit tunnel where they emerged into the Garden Room for ‘tipples’ and canapes. It was so wonderful to hear everyone’s reactions as they walked into the room. We had a working fountain with trickling water, tree stumps as poseur tables, a woodland backdrop, themed bar and woodland creatures - even the flooring had been changed to grass! No detail had been overlooked, with the room even smelling of a forest…
Whilst guests sipped their enchanted cocktails, mingled and took in the setting, they were treated to a variety of canapes including cep mushroom and truffle croquettes, pine cured salmon with woodland herbs, rosemary chicken with reindeer moss and beetroot macaroons, all served on stunning moss filled acrylic trays to suit the theme. They were utterly delicious!
To inject a little fun into proceedings we also had a mystic fortune teller located in our forest den complete with fairy lights and a toadstool seating area, a mix and mingle magician working the room and our brand new ‘Beauty Mirror’ with an array of props to choose from, which provided plenty of photo opportunities – funnily enough a fair few woodland creatures appeared in the photos too!!
Clutching their enchanted keys, guests made their way back under the fairy lit tunnel, through the secret door and past our ‘tree folk’, into the Oval Room for ‘din dins’. The tables were adorned with magical tree table centre pieces, including plum coloured hydrangeas, silver birch, red trailing amaranthus, snow berries, pink orchids, entwined fairy lights and beautiful little woodland birds. At the base of the trees were acorns and horse chestnuts, log slices, tea lights, moss and the cutest little toadstools… It looked utterly enchanting! To complete the look, each place setting had a copper charger plate with matching cutlery, ornate coloured glassware and place names were handwritten on pebbles. To add to the ambience, we of course had some stunning room lighting and a harpist who played background music throughout.
Once guests were seated, our MD Paul Griffiths said a few brief words and then we went straight into dinner with a starter of artichoke and hazelnut cream, sourdough, pickled root vegetables and winter shoots - themed to create a sense of the forest floor. Main course was heather smoked roe deer with pickled bill berries and salt baked celeriac served on a stunning crackled turquoise plate - it was cooked to perfection and simply melted in the mouth.
Served on an ornate leaf shaped plate, dessert was an acorn and milk chocolate mousse with coco nib ice cream, presented in the shape of an acorn and was complete with chocolate leaves, it really was beautiful. To round off the meal, guests indulged in coffee and petit fours - even the petit fours were in the shape of miniature logs! The attention to detail and level of hospitality from the team at Coworth Park was simply incredible – the food was a real experience within itself.
After dinner, guests made their way back into the Garden Room which had been transformed into the ‘after party’ space where the fabulous Fully FunKtional WOWED our guests and kept the dancefloor packed all night long... Fully Funktional are always overflowing with energy and gave the party real pizazz!
The overall look of our Enchanted Forest was simply stunning and really showcased our party services. We’ve had some fantastic feedback, including; “What an amazing night, perfect organisation, beautiful hosts (the girls I mean!) and the food was incredible”, “It was a truly amazing night”, “It was AMAZING! The decoration was the best theme setter I think I’ve ever seen.” and “It was an epic evening!” to mention but a few. We LOVED every minute in our Enchanted Forest and really didn’t want the evening to end…
The good news is ‘The Directors’ have promised we can do another BIG party for our 20th Birthday!! Anyone who attended our whopping 15th Birthday party held at Wentworth back in October 2015 (with a mere 300 guests) knows it isn’t a party to miss… We can’t wait - roll on 2020!!
