August 2015

31 August 2015

August was a very busy month for the team here at Firebird and well over half of our events were weddings!

To kick off the month we had a huge party for our very own Mary Hamilton who looks after the accounts here at Firebird, as it was her 50th birthday! Guests were treated to a red carpet entrance, with paparazzi photographers to make them all feel like stars! Entertainment was provided by our singing waiters and by Keith (The Thief) Charnley, whose combination of magic and pick-pocketing left the guests stunned! It was a fab night for all the Firebird team who got to party the night away!

One of the team building events we were involved in was a Cryptic Challenge which took place at Pennyhill Park. The guests took part in challenges such as ‘Nuclear Reactor’ where they had to work in their teams to prevent a nuclear disaster and also ‘Egg Launch Build’ where the teams built an egg missile launcher – they had great fun seeing who’s contraption fired their egg the furthest!

Another team build we organised was a Crystal Maze event, which is based on the hit TV show. The teams took part in mental, physical and skill based challenges and worked in their teams to gain as many crystals as possible, which all lead to more time in the finale. The finale takes place in the inflatable dome where the teams have to work against the clock to catch as many gold tickets as possible!

We also provided services for a lovely wedding at Pennyhill Park where we provided a beautiful string quartet who played prior to the ceremony and the evening meal, and popular events band Fullyfunktional, who played throughout the evening alongside one of our DJs. We also supplied a photo booth, a white sparkly LED dance floor, a matching white starcloth backdrop and some gorgeous blue uplighters.

Another wedding we loved being part of was held in the Barn at Great Fosters. The wooden pillars in the barn were wrapped in delicate fairy lights which helped to give the room a lovely atmosphere. We also supplied them with a roulette and blackjack table as something a bit different for the guests to enjoy!

We had the pleasure of organising a 70th birthday party at the Elvetham Hotel, where they had a murder mystery evening! The murder mystery took place throughout dinner, with clues and suspect interrogation happening in between courses. Once the murderer had been uncovered, the winning team were awarded a bottle of champagne!

One of our most exciting events this month was a private birthday party in a marquee which had a Brazilian theme. We provided fabulous entertainment including a Mariachi band, two carnival themed stilt walkers, a caricaturist and discotheque! We also organised a vast array of exotic flowers, furniture and lighting including LED Poseur Tables, Colour Changing Side Tables and atmospheric lighting around the client's gardens. The whole site looked amazing and the party was a roaring success!
