Hailed as the ‘Oscars of the Events World’ we were absolutely delighted to win an award for the second year in a row at the 2019 M&IT Awards a few weeks ago. Facing challenging competition as ever, we were very proud to be recognised amongst the best in our industry and be presented with the Bronze Award for 'BEST EVENT PROVIDER’.
The Awards were held on the 1st March at Battersea Evolution, London and as nominated finalists, a group of the Firebird team attended in person. It was rather nice to attend the Awards as guests (not our usual role at these types of events!) and ‘let our hair down’, without thinking about all the organisation that goes on behind the scenes to produce a great event.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a spot of fire juggling, photo opportunities and singing from a Welsh all boys choir, before making our way through to the Champagne reception. In honour of St Davis’s day there were lots of clever touches by the organisers, including a Welsh dragon ice sculpture, delicious 3 course dinner with homage to the Welsh theme including Brecon Lamb (which was delicious!), a fab performance from an impressive LED dance act and not forgetting the rather handsome Gethin Jones to present the all-important awards…
As the 'BEST EVENT PROVIDER’ category was announced, we were all feeling very proud to have been shortlisted as finalists, but were of course hoping to win an award! When we were announced as Bronze winners there was rather a lot of cheering, with our wonderful Financial Director Ian Gatfield proudly accepting the award on behalf of Firebird.

Rewarding excellence of service and product, the winners of the M&IT Awards are determined by the highest number of votes cast from clients, so we really do owe thanks to all our lovely clients that took the time to vote for us – a huge thank you from all the team!
We really enjoyed donning our party frocks and tux’s (Firebird Ted included!) and we certainly celebrated in style, enjoying a tipple or two and dancing the night away to the band.
The evening also provided a great opportunity to network and catch up with other industry partners with whom we work with regularly, including some of our lovely agency clients and venues who recommend our services – if you’re reading this, it was lovely to see you all!
In short, we had a great evening celebrating the best in our industry - congratulations to all the worthy winners! We’re looking forward to the 2020 awards already…
