Last October we had the pleasure of producing Vocalink, a Mastercard Company’s corporate party, to celebrate their very successful integration during 2018. The event was to be held at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow, London and the client’s vision was very clear from the outset, they wanted an all standing event for 650 guests with a WOW factor circus theme.
As a preferred supplier to the venue, our sales team had the added bonus of knowing the space rather well, so we got to work straight away, coming up with the perfect solution….
To accommodate the large number of guests, three event spaces were used – The Atrium, The Royal Suite and The Commonwealth Suite. Guests arrived for the drinks reception in The Atrium and were greeted by our very own ring master, dressed in red tails and a top hat, alongside two very eye-catching clown stilt walkers, who posed for lots of guest photos!
The Atrium looked stunning, beautifully lit with moving heads and flood lights, which were accompanied by custom gobos panning the walls. Giant coloured balloons were dotted between the themed food stalls serving fish and chips, hot dogs, burgers, and curry – it was so bright and colourful!
The Royal Suite was transformed into a chill-out room, which included a stunning circular 4m LED bar which was set to red and white, white Chesterfield furniture and low level background music, which provided the perfect opportunity for guests to mingle and enjoy a cocktail.
The Commonwealth Suite was the main attraction with a red and white draped ceiling, fantastic lighting production, red stage with custom trim, custom circus scene backdrop and statement elephant and lion props flanking the stage. Kicking off the event in style, three Olympic gymnasts complete with twirling ribbons, performed on the huge chequered dance floor, wowing guests.
Next up were the fantastic Rockaoke Band, in keeping with the theme they dressed up in clown accessories and the lead band member really got into the spirit wearing a full ring master costume! We had another whopping 9m LED bar in the main room serving guests, ensuring there wasn’t a long wait to get a drink. Colourful old oil drums were used as poseur tables, with distressed metal stools for guests to rest their weary legs after dancing. There were also an array of side stalls on offer which were a huge hit, including tin can alley, ring toss, punch bag game, beat the buzzer and an obligatory photo booth!
Everyone had a great night and the feedback from our client after the event couldn’t have been any better!
