Introducing our new monthly feature, Firebird LOVES... We are super lucky to work at a variety of stunning venues, so will be showcasing a different venue each month, sharing the team's thoughts on our favourite event spaces, what makes the venue special, our most popular services at the venue and more!

First up is the gorgeous Cowdray House…

Nestled in the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, Cowdray House is the perfect country house hideaway. As you drive through the village and down the tree-lined driveway into the 110 acres of private gardens, grounds and parkland, you instantly feel yourself relax – it is a true home away from home... With an array of indoor spaces to make your own and ample outdoor space, it is an extremely versatile venue, which lends itself to a whole host of events. From exclusive weddings and birthday celebrations, to corporate meetings and team building, they can accommodate it all!

Why Cowdray House is so special

One of the loveliest things about this venue is the flexibility of the events team. Available for hire as an exclusive use venue, they really do ensure that the client experiences the house as their own for the duration of their event, which is just so special! From drinks in the dining room, to wow factor Fireworks on the front lawn, you really can go all out and have your event just how you imagined.

Our favourite event spaces

Buck Hall is certainly the most striking events space in the house. Most often used as an elegant dinner space, we have also transformed it into a nightclub for the evening, where guests partied the night away, before finding their way upstairs to one of the 22 luxurious onsite bedrooms. It also lends itself as the perfect setting for one of our Murder Mysteries. In addition to the main house, the expansive grounds allow plenty of scope for outdoor activities. Country pursuits are very popular, with Segways, Archery and Falconry amongst the favourites.

Popular services

For parties and weddings, uplighters and festoon lighting are a very popular choice – the addition of the lighting really enhances the space and adds that special something to the beautiful high ceiling in Buck Hall. In addition to this, entertainers, bands, PA systems, discotheques, photo booths and dance floors are ever popular.

What’s on the doorstep

Beyond the main house and grounds there is plenty more to explore… Located at the heart of the Estate, a visit to the award-winning Cowdray Farm shop is a must. There is also the lure of Midhurst Village and beautiful countryside walks, plus the Golf Club, Polo and Shooting to keep your guests entertained.
