This month’s Firebird LOVES feature is the historic Hever Castle...

Firebird LOVES Hever Castle

If you’re looking for a beautiful, totally unique venue, that’s steeped in history then look no further… Located in Kent, only 40 minutes from central London and 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport, Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I and has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 700 years. From the stately grandeur of the Castle itself, to the classic, country house atmosphere of the Astor Wing and the stunning lakeside location of the Italian Garden, Hever Castle offers the perfect quintessentially English venue... Each event space has its own unique character and offers a stunning setting for all manner of events. We have been working alongside Hever Castle for many years and are still in awe of its beauty each time we return.

The Historic Astor Wing

The Astor Wing, sympathetically built onto the castle in 1904, boasts an impressive newly refurbished Tudor style events space, suitable for up to 60 delegates and is available as an ‘Exclusive Use’ venue. Overlooking the formal lawns, this space is very popular for weddings, with our most popular service being uplighters, used to enhance the stunning oak panelling and fireplace in the Tudor Suite Dining Room. For corporate events murder mysteries are of course the perfect entertainment choice. For evening receptions, guests are escorted from the castle to the Moat Restaurant via the castle drawbridge (how cool!), where they can dance the night away with one of our infamous Firebird discotheques!

The Unique Guthrie Pavilion, Italian Gardens and Loggia

The Guthrie Pavilion, located in the award-winning Italian Garden and adjacent to the lakeside ‘Loggia’, is a versatile, contemporary space suitable for up to 200 guests. Offering the flexibility of being used for corporate events, parties and weddings, the Guthrie Pavilion with its vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling arched windows and refurbished in Palladian style, is a light and airy events space. Uplighters are again a very popular choice – the addition of the lighting really enhances the space and adds that special something. In addition to this, light up letters, starcloth backdrops, entertainers, discotheques, photo booths and dance floors are ever popular. The beautiful arched columns of the Italian Loggia, complete with the venues very own Trevi fountain overlooking the 38 acre lake is a truly stunning location used for drinks receptions. To really round off your event in style, this is where we gather guests to enjoy spectacular Fireworks displays over the lake!! It’s so magical, you honestly can’t beat it!

Stunning Outdoor Space For Summer Events

If you’re looking for unique party or wedding ideas, there is an abundance of outside space on offer too. Ideally located with spectacular views overlooking the castle, the beautiful Winter Garden Lawn offers the perfect setting for marquee events for up to 600 guests. The options for entertainment and décor are quite simply endless... Featured in the gallery below is a Wild West themed party we provided a few years ago – it was such a great event and what a backdrop!!

Accommodation Fit For A King

Offering 28 stunning five star en-suite bedrooms with period features, subtlety combined with modern day luxury, why not extend your celebrations by staying overnight. Recently refurbished and fit for a King, you can expect period colours, panelled walls and vaulted ceilings along with luxury, antique furnishings and rich fabrics. Several rooms also boast four poster beds and roll top baths – sounds too good to miss doesn’t it!
