30 June 2015
As summer is arriving, we’ve had plenty of weddings to keep the Firebird team busy this month and we’ve had the pleasure of revisiting a handful of our favourite wedding venues, including Pennyhill Park, Great Fosters and Savill Court Hotel.
June started off with a conference for NACCO Materials Handling Group Ltd which was held at ‘On 5’ at Ascot Racecourse. We supplied them with sound, lighting, AV production and LED Poseur Tables. The guests took part in Virtual Horse Racing in between each course at dinner and the winner was awarded a bottle of champagne!
We had the pleasure of providing services for a wedding at Hever Castle, which was a wonderful event. Providing entertainment to the guests was a magician, a caricaturist and two fire performers. We sent along our harpist who had learnt the couple’s favourite songs for the bride’s entrance and the signing of the marriage certificate. They also had a saxophonist who played during the pre-dinner drinks and to top it all off an amazing fireworks display!
One of our largest events in June was providing production for the Chalke Valley History Festival for the second year in a row. The festival is a celebration of history that is seen nowhere else in the UK, and this year they had talks from the likes of Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Julian Fellowes and Ian Hislop. Some of our crew were there for ten days working at the event!
We have also been at one of our recommended venues Sandown Racecourse to provide Segways and Virtual Horse Racing for a team building day for Facebook, which was great fun! We also visited Savill Court for a team building event which included archery, laser clay shooting and human table football! Another event that was really enjoyable was an ice cream making event at Chicheley Hall. The ice creams they made were delicious!
We were also involved in two charity events this month, one of which was held at the prestigious Wentworth Club. We provided the amazing ventriloquist Paul Zerdin plus a brilliant events band Fullyfunktional who we love working with! The other charity event was held at the Berystede Hotel in Ascot; they had comedienne and impressionist Francine Lewis from Britain’s Got Talent plus a blackjack and roulette table to entertain their guests!
One company chose to think outside the box as they chose Dragon Boating for the main activity at their team building day. They were split into four teams and while two teams were Dragon Boating, the other teams got to experience archery and laser clay shooting. At lunch they had a lovely picnic in the clubhouse and finished off with an awards presentation for the winning team!
Towards the end of the month we provided a variety of services for a private party in Woking, including a marquee, LED cubes, uplighters, an LED bar, a sparkly white LED dance floor and a premier disco. It was an amazing evening and the marquee looked stunning!
