At Firebird Events we have many repeat Corporate clients who come back to us year after year for their annual Christmas celebrations.
This is so lovely for us, as we have built some fantastic relationships with such clients and look forward to the challenge of coming up with new ideas and themes to keep each year’s party fresh and of course lots of fun!!
We have a client who is in the pharmaceutical industry who we have been working with since 2010, so as you can imagine we have provided all sorts of themes over the years such as; 70’s Disco, An Enchanted Forest, Black and White, West End / Theatre, Narnia and this year’s theme is… still a secret!! (All will be revealed to guests in a couple of weeks!)
Narnia case study
One of our favourites has to be the Narnia themed event which we provided a few years ago, which was held at the gorgeous Lainston House in their Dawley Barn. Our client came to us saying they loved the idea of a Narnia themed event and mentioned Lainston House. From our existing relationship with the hotel we knew the events space well. From there we worked with the client and venue to produce a stunning Narnia themed event, which was a great fit with the Dawley Barn.
A WOW factor entranceway
When guests arrived, they opened the doors to the barn and pushed their way past a selection of fur coats, threw open the doors of the wardrobe and arrived in Narnia!! Emerging into the room guests walked through falling snow to enjoy their drinks reception. Now that’s what we call an entrance!
Room lighting, table centres, Chiavari chairs and video film projection
Around the room we placed ice blue uplighters along with lots of fairy lights wrapped around the beams overhead, which highlighted the exposed brickwork in the barn and feature ceiling, creating a stunning wintery effect. Tall gypsophelia and white willow table centres in mirror vases, adorned with oversized snowflakes really drew the eye into the room. These, combined with white Chiavari chairs, mirrored wine goblets, Narnia themed seating plan and menus, along with projection of the original ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ film onto a large screen, really set the scene ready for guests to sit down, relax and enjoy the fantasy land of Narnia.
Themed photo area
As a feature space and to set the scene for professional photos after dinner we created a fabulous themed photo area complete with the iconic period streetlamp, snow flocked Christmas trees and snowy backdrop (cue Lucy Pevensie first meeting Mr. Tumnus at the beginning of the film!) All the guests really enjoyed the experience and then went on to dance the night away to the client’s own band.
We hope this gives you a feel for how we can enhance existing venue features and combine elements to create a fabulous event. The difficulty with repeat clients can be beating these events year after year and coming up with original ideas, but here at Firebird we have it covered! If you need any inspiration for forthcoming events please do challenge us with your ideas and our creative team will be sure to inspire you…
