The start of spring has brought with it lots of weddings, conferences and corporate parties! We have been involved in some great events this month and will share with you our two biggest events!
We have been honoured to work with Youngs Brewery for 11 years running, producing and organising their internal awards evening. This year they had a Shakespearean themed event and it was held in London. There was so much to install and prepare, that the event set up began a whole three days before the event day!
The first thing to be installed was the huge 15m x 24m marquee, which was decorated with gorgeous red and black draping and fairy lights on the ceiling along with black draping on the walls. That alone looked lovely, but of course there was much more to add! There were over 300 guests in attendance for a sit down dinner so 33 tables (complete with Shakespeare play table names – bonus points if you can think of 33 of them!!) were installed along with gold chairs with red cushions to match the draping.
As it was Shakespearean themed, they had some amazing props for the marquee including a giant gold photo frame, a red velvet chaise longue which guests could pose for photos on and suits of armour on stage! The guests had a great night, as did we - you can take a look at some of the photos on our Twitter page, taken by the talented photographer James Darling.
Just two days later we had our biggest event of the year so far at the stunning Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane. It was for another repeat corporate client who we have worked with for a number of years, so we were excited to put together another fantastic event for them. The event was 1920’s themed and the guests were ‘passengers’ on the RMS Mauretania, so we had a lot of fun planning the props (including a full size 1920’s Beaufort car), room décor, entertainment and stunning table lamp table centres!
The entertainment was incredible and a definite highlight of the evening. Suited to the theme, they had a 1920’s themed jazz quartet to welcome guests, along with flapper girls, sailors and paparazzi on the red carpet! The sailors and dancers began by escorting the guests to their seats, before performing ‘New York, New York’ which was a spectacular way to kick off the event!
A 24 piece 1920’s style orchestra played throughout dinner and afterwards guests were treated to a fabulous cabaret performance from our amazing flapper girls and sailors who wowed guests with their dancing and singing prowess – a combination of tap and cheeky Charleston blew the audience away leaving a real up-beat feel.
Just when guests thought that the best was over, we welcomed the incredible Vincent and Flavia from Strictly Come Dancing to the floor! Guests watched in awe as they performed three amazing dances, including their well renowned Argentinian Tango. The DJ then took to the stand and guests danced the night away and played at the casino tables. In the clients words the event was - ‘sheer brilliance’.
We love working with clients year after year, as we get to build great working relationships - hopefully we will work with both of the above clients for many years to come!
