Meet the Team - Craig Taylor, Senior Production Manager

31 August 2018

This month we are featuring Craig, our Senior Production Manager, who is well loved for his sarcastic sense of humour and is the longest serving member of our production team.

Having been part of the team for over 12 years, Craig has a vast amount of onsite experience and is well acquainted with all our repeat clients and recommended venues. He started off at Firebird (many moons ago!) touring the country as crew to one of our bands. It has all evolved from there and he is now a crucial member of the team. His ‘cheeky chappy’ personality and ability to always keep a level head with whatever last-minute changes get thrown his way, has led to many of our repeat clients asking for Craig to run their events. Taking prime position behind the control desk, he can often be found heading up the sound, lighting and AV.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy watching films and spend a fair bit of my time down on the golf course. I also really enjoy snowboarding and go to the Alps every year with friends to enjoy the snow (and a few beers!)

What’s the best thing about working at Firebird?

My work mates – we work LONG hours and working with them makes the days and nights pass quickly.

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

I like country music, so listen to a lot of playlists on Spotify. A particular favourite at the moment is Florida Georgia Line, Meant to Be.

What has been your work highlight of the year so far?

We provide the AV production and management at The Chalke Valley History Festival every June and this is definitely one of the highlights of my year. We are onsite for seven days, running the three main presentation marquees and whilst it’s hard work, it’s really interesting and a great excuse to be in a field for a whole week with my work friends!

What characteristic do you most admire in others?

Honesty and people being themselves.

If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?

I would throw a festival style party and it would be awesome… It would be for me and I would invite all my friends and family. Must haves include; live music (including country), swing ball, haybales, boules and ribs on the BBQ!

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

All of them!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Wolverine, because he’s a rebel.

That’s Craig in a nutshell… Next month we will be featuring the one and only Mary Hamilton, our Head of Accounts – everyone’s favourite (nothing to do with the fact that she pays all the bills!!)
