Back in September, we had the privilege of producing an awesome festival style music concert ‘Music Under the Hangar’ for one of our lovely repeat clients.
We have been working with this particular client since 2006 and were delighted when they decided they wanted to shake things up a little from their ‘usual’ summer fun day and host a completely different style of outdoor event for their employees.
Firebird managed and produced the whole event, from the initial concept creation, to live event production and on-site event management on the day. The event ran from late afternoon until 10.30pm and was attended by 300 guests. Alongside the outdoor event stage, wow factor lighting and awesome sound, we also sourced a diverse array of acts to perform throughout the event.
As guests arrived, they were handed their branded lanyards and a festival glitter artist was on hand to add a bit of sparkle (who doesn’t love a bit of glitter!!) and get everyone in the festival vibe! Around the performance area there were branded festival style flags, bunting and branded banners flanking the stage, which really added that extra something to the vast outdoor event space.
The event was opened by a fantastic, up and coming solo artist Georgia, who is often compared to the late Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith and is just perfect for a festival. Georgia was swiftly followed by a Beatles Tribute act, which was extremely well received and got everyone up and dancing in front of the stage. Keeping guests entertained while the stage was turned around for the next act, six colourful Samba drummers and dancers in wow factor feather costumes performed within the crowd. This was a great addition to the event, allowing guests to join in with the dancing, or stand back and watch in awe as they showed off their Latin moves…
To keep the festival goers fed and watered, there was a choice of food available from Mexican and Indian food trucks (plus a well-stocked bar of course!) giving guests the opportunity to choose what they fancied - the food really was delicious!
As it turned dark, the stage really came to life with our fantastic lighting engineers doing what they do best, providing an amazing light show on the stage and within the crowd. Atlantic Soul Orchestra were up next, performing a whole range of soul songs. They actually performed at the evening ceremony for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of wedding in May – only the best for our clients!
The penultimate act were Spark an exciting and colourful theatre act combining drumming, dynamic choreography, LED lights and infectious rhythm!! They provided a crowd performance which saw guests following them around like the pied piper - once you started watching, you really couldn’t look away… To bring the event to a close, the fantastic Fully Funktional who are always oozing enthusiasm, were the perfect choice to round off the evening. Performing a 90 minute set, complete with an array of party classics, plenty of sing-along moments and bringing the standing area in front of the stage to life, packed with dancing guests it was a great evening had by all!
Our client’s feedback was amazing – “It was phenomenal from start to finish. You did an absolutely amazing job - it was so much fun and a great success! We have had so much positive feedback it is unreal, I cannot remember the last time an event created so much of a stir in the office. Secondly, I wanted to express my thanks to the Firebird team, particularly Josh who was here late on Friday and for the attention to detail he (and his team) put into working with the acts during sound checks to ensure everything from lighting, sound and acoustics worked to the artist requests. The event space looked amazing as did the stage and lighting. Also the sound was perfect, no matter what part of the event space I was in the sound was amazing. Finally, I would like to thank Rachael for her enthusiasm, interest and attention to detail for this event. She played a massive part in this event from concept to completion and she was faultless, her ideas and suggestions where exactly right, she captured my vision for the event instantly, came back with a perfect proposal.”
It really was such a fun packed event, full of variety – definitely one of our highlights of 2018!!
