With restrictions starting to be lifted and optimism for everyday life returning to normality sometime soon, we have been reflecting on the successes of the last year and how many companies have navigated the challenge of bringing their teams together to lift morale, boost engagement and show employees just how much they appreciate them.
Back in December, when we would usually have seen mass Christmas parties, much frivolity and dancing, Just Eat asked us to help bring together their large teams for some virtual fun. With Zoom fatigue setting in and many of us sick of staring at our screens all day, we were tasked with creating a fun and interactive day for all 550 attendees.
After brainstorming ideas, we decided the best course of action was to have multiple activities guests could enjoy throughout the day – and what a day it was! Event packs were sent out to guests in advance of the event and were like Christmas in a box, complete with a Christmas cracker and decorations, alongside all the equipment / ingredients they would need.
Kicking off the morning 200 guests joined us for a Rogue Agent activity, where guests got to channel their inner James Bond… With the clock ticking guests had to race to find evidence and figure out who the Rogue Agent was to complete the mission!
Next it was onto Gin Tasting - while 100 guests got to taste some delicious gins, they also had the opportunity to chat with our gin experts… Ever wondered how to make the perfect G&T from home? Well, we can certainly give you a few top tips!
Next Zoom link and the next activity… Time to get the party started with some Cocktail Making! Our mixologist joined 200 guests and walked them through how to make two cocktails – Easy spiced Apple and a Kiwi and Cucumber Martini – yum!
The final group of the day enjoyed a Virtual Wreath Making workshop. Utilising their pre-sent event packs, guests logged onto a live tutorial from our in-house studio, where our florist demonstrated how to create their festive wreaths at home with step-by-step guidance and handy hints.
To keep all the activities interactive, we used the chat function for guests to send comments and ask questions - it led to some lively conversations, alongside some fabulous creations!! All ran seamlessly, we had a very happy client, the activities were a huge hit and most importantly everyone had lots of fun!
We are so looking forward to the return of in-person events (fingers crossed it won’t be too long now!), but the past year really has shown us how valuable virtual events are. Harnessing the power of technology, creativity and fun, we are very proud to have helped countless companies stay connected with their employees.
Whilst we can ‘see the light’ for the return of face to face events, virtual offerings will very much remain a vital tool over the coming months, so please do get in touch if you would like to discuss any ideas on how to bring your team together and have some fun!
