From soldier to adventurer to TV presenter, Ken Hames is an inspirational after dinner speaker who made the leap from a military career to showcasing his skills in front of the camera.
Following a 25 year military career, Ken Hames has written and presented many adventure-based TV documentaries. Ken created and is the expedition leader on the ground-breaking BBC series Beyond Boundaries. He led an expedition of 12 disabled people across Nicaragua, from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean in a record breaking, 300 km trek starting in the Mosquito Coast.
Working on documentaries as well as entertainment programmes, Ken made The Trek in 1994 with the help of Diana, Princess of Wales. He led twelve disadvantaged African children on a 500-mile trek over desert and mountainous terrain. The process, which transformed the lives of the kids, was not over after recording. Ken was committed to following their progress through life forever.
With his after dinner speeches he motivates and inspires. Ken’s unique experiences and skills enable him to bring teams together and impart valuable lessons on leadership, teamwork and overcoming barriers. His passion for empowering people to transform their lives is truly affecting.
