Tim Harford For Hire

Tim Harford is the economics editorial writer for the Financial Times, and his column, The Undercover Economist, is published in both the Financial Times and the US magazine Slate.

Tim also presents the BBC programme ‘Trust Me I'm An Economist’, which takes on subjects such as love, work and the future, applying economics to everyday events. He has also been published in numerous international newspapers and in Forbes, the Washington Post and the New York Times.

In his presentations, Tim argues that, in order to understand how disappointing recent technology is (and how much promise it holds out) one needs to look back to previous real and imagined revolutions, where demography, economics, organisational behaviour and psychology are all vital factors. He is a firm believer in learning from history and in Winston Churchill's words: 'the further backward you look, the further forward you can see.'
