Alex Boswell

Technical Manager

What does your role entail?
I am mostly based in the office, looking after our virtual studios and supporting the projects team with technical requirements for events, creating CAD drawings and training our production teams on all our equipment. I am also constantly on the lookout for new equipment that can help us achieve the best results for our clients’ events.

How did your career start in events?
I started working on events whilst still at school, and then moved into theatre and live events when I finished my A levels – I’ve even worked on TV and short film.   I’ve now been working in the events industry for 17 years.

Random fact about you?
I completed the Devizes to Westminster canoe race (125 miles) in just over 21 hours.

What is your favourite event you have worked on?
PLASA is always my favourite! It’s an annual event and this will be my 10th year working with our client – it’s great to work with the same team each year.

Where is the favourite place you have travelled to?
My wife’s family lived in New Delhi, India for several years, so we were lucky to be able to visit and go traveling round the country.

Why do you love working in events?
I love seeing an event go from concept to real life, whether this is a small conference, or a large festival.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love going hiking, especially in Wales if I can.

Five words to describe what Alex brings to the team…
He brings lots of coffee! 😉
