Andy Hobbs

Sales Director

Andy is an original founder of Firebird and within his role as Sales Director he oversees the team building, party and wedding side of the business. He is rather hands on at events too, often attending larger functions and even dusting off his headphones for a spot of DJ-ing for very special clients!

How long have you been in the industry?
I started DJing at the age of 12 and then started Firebird with Paul in 2000, so technically 30 years… Scary!!

What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my wife and two boys, who are full of energy and certainly keep me on my toes! Aside from spending time with family and friends, my other passion is aviation. I have attained my PPL (H) helicopter license, so can go solo flying – it is so exhilarating!

How would your friends describe you?
I think they would say that I work too hard and that I am a bit of a practical joker…

What is the best recipe for a good party?
It’s actually very simple – a combination of a stunning setting, wow factor through décor and lighting, fabulous entertainment and of course guests who want to have a good time! By managing our client’s events we take all the pressure off the hosts ensuring that they can enjoy every moment.

What’s your Favourite food?
You can’t beat a traditional Sunday Roast (with a nice glass of wine of course!)

What is your favourite venue to work at and why?
Great Fosters – I have always loved the history and charm of the venue. The Tithe Barn and Orangery are so unique and provide such an intimate setting. The venue also holds very special memories for me, as I proposed to my girlfriend there a few years ago and we subsequently got married there too!

Who would you like to meet most?
Lee Evans – I am a HUGE fan, he never fails to make me laugh!!
