What does your role entail?
Working with clients to bring their ideas to life through technical support, turning vision into reality by collaborating with event and project managers to deliver all aspects of technical production
Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes, but if I told you they wouldn’t be hidden anymore!!
How did your career start in events?
I went to University to study music and music production. My main lecturer was a touring sound engineer, he needed some help on an event and asked if I would join him. The event ended up being TED Talks, so after that I was hooked!
Are you a morning or evening person?
Well, as I work in events I was always a night person. But my son has other ideas, so I have now migrated to being a morning person.
Describe your personality in three words?
Pragmatic, conscientious and passionate.
Why do you love working in events?
The two major reasons I love working in events are the job satisfaction and the people. It’s amazing to take an idea from planning through to delivery, and I enjoy working with upbeat, collaborative people who are great at problem-solving.
If there was anywhere in the world you could travel to, where would you go?
Japan and China. I love the food, the history and the culture of both these amazing countries and still can’t believe I haven’t managed to visit yet. I would love to stay for a while and immerse myself in the culture.
What do you do in your spare time?
Listen to music, go to the gym, ride my bike, run, and hang out with my son. Or sometimes I do all of these at the same time!!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Play piano and learn a language.
