Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity FAQs

What is the Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity?

The Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity we offer at Firebird Events is an action-packed outdoor experience designed to put your teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test.

Inspired by scenarios seen in Bear Grylls’ television programmes, this memorable corporate team activity gives colleagues the opportunity to tackle hands-on survival challenges under the guidance of highly trained and knowledgeable instructors.

How long does the Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity last?

The experience can last between two and six hours, depending on the package and activities selected. Half-day packages typically include four activities, while full-day experiences can feature six.

This flexibility makes it easy to incorporate the experience into a wider company event or dedicate a full day to one of our most exciting corporate team building workshops.

How many participants do you recommend for the activity?

We recommend the Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity for groups of 10 to 200+ guests. Its impressive capacity makes it equally suitable for smaller departments and large company-wide events.

Our team at Firebird Events can help you select the right format for your group size, objectives, and available time.

Where does the Bear Grylls Survival Team Building Activity take place?

This is an outdoor corporate team activity, allowing your group to leave the usual workplace environment behind and embrace a completely different challenge. Experiences can be arranged across international destinations, giving businesses plenty of flexibility when incorporating survival activities into their corporate away days and events.

What survival activities can our team try?

There is an extensive selection of challenges to choose from. Options include axe throwing, survival arrow archery, air rifle or pistol shooting, wilderness first aid, knot tying, navigation, raft building, spear throwing, and the Stranded Survival Scenario. This variety means our corporate team building workshops can be shaped around the skills and experiences you want to encourage.

Can we choose which activities are included?

You will be able to choose a combination of activities to suit your team building objectives and preferred experience. Half-day packages can feature four activities, while full-day packages can include six. This makes the experience highly adaptable, whether you want to focus on communication, leadership, practical skills, friendly competition, or all of the above.

What is the Stranded Survival Scenario?

The Stranded Survival Scenario challenges your teams to think carefully about the essentials needed to survive. Participants must consider priorities such as water, food, fire, and shelter while working together to make effective decisions. It is a particularly engaging corporate team activity because it encourages communication, planning, and collaboration under pressure.

Are there activities focused on teamwork and communication?

Many challenges have been created specifically to get colleagues communicating and cooperating. The Land Rover Sledge Pull, for example, requires participants to use rope and effective communication, while the Pipeline Challenge involves building a system to transport valuable clean water. Raft Building is another fantastic test of confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

Will the experience test leadership skills?

Leadership is central to many of the survival scenarios. Teams need to organise themselves, make decisions, delegate responsibilities, and adapt when challenges arise. Our corporate team building workshops provide an exciting setting where natural leadership qualities can emerge away from everyday workplace roles.

Does the activity include problem-solving challenges?

Problem-solving runs throughout the experience. The Tower requires planning and common sense to organise an O2 resupply, while Raise the Flag asks participants to make effective use of the equipment provided. Navigation challenges also require teams to assess their surroundings and determine how to reach safety.

Are there physical challenges available?

There are several physical options, including the Commando Crawl and Tyrolean Traverse. Teams can also tackle an Improvised Stretcher Race, where they must use available equipment and their surroundings to move a casualty to safety. Activities vary in style, helping to create a diverse and energetic programme.

Does everyone need previous survival experience?

No previous survival experience is required. The experience is led by hand-picked, highly trained, and knowledgeable instructors who will guide participants through the challenges.

Our emphasis is on helping your group get involved, learning new skills, and working effectively as a team rather than arriving with specialist survival knowledge.

Why choose the Bear Grylls Survival Academy for team building?

Few corporate team building workshops combine survival skills, tactical challenges, problem-solving, and outdoor adventure quite like this experience. With activities inspired by Bear Grylls’ television scenarios, it offers something genuinely different from a standard corporate event and provides plenty of opportunities for colleagues to build stronger working relationships.

With a huge range of challenges and flexible half or full-day packages available, we can help turn your next corporate team activity into an exciting shared experience your colleagues are unlikely to forget.
