who is the prime suspect?

A body has been discovered in suspicious circumstances!

Your venue is turned into an incident room and the delegates are now the detectives!! Wearing forensic investigator suits, they have to unravel what led to the death and who is the prime suspect.

Led by real Scotland Yard trained detectives, the evidence will build through the course of the event as they analyse witness statements, bank and phone records, CCTV and police intelligence to create the timeline of events. They will also use real forensic techniques, visiting the crime scene, searching for further clues. Here they will dust for finger-marks and use odontology, shoe mark analysis and DNA to compare against the main suspects.

The teams then present their timelines and theories and hear from the suspects in interview. The closest team to the truth will be the winners!!

Crime Scene Investigation Team Building Activity FAQs

What is the Crime Scene Investigation team building activity?

Our crime scene team building event transforms your venue into an immersive incident room following the discovery of a body in suspicious circumstances. Your team becomes the investigating detectives, working together to examine evidence, establish a timeline, and identify the prime suspect.

Combining problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on forensic challenges, at Firebird Events we deliver an experience that is engaging from the opening briefing through to the final reveal.

How does the crime scene team building event work?

Your guests are divided into teams before receiving an introduction from our detective presenter. Each team examines the initial evidence, identifies potential lines of enquiry, and begins piecing together what happened.

As the investigation develops, your team receives witness statements, phone and bank records, CCTV information, and police intelligence. Every new discovery could change the direction of the case, keeping everyone involved and thinking carefully.

Who leads the investigation?

The experience is led by real Scotland Yard trained detectives, adding authenticity and expertise to your corporate event. Our presenters guide your detectives through the investigation while allowing teams to develop their own theories.

It is this combination of professional delivery and interactive entertainment that makes the crime scene team building event such a memorable alternative to conventional corporate activities.

How long does the activity last?

The Crime Scene Investigation experience typically lasts between two and three hours. This provides plenty of time for your team to study the evidence, investigate the crime scene, complete forensic tasks, and prepare a convincing final theory.

The format makes it an excellent standalone activity or an exciting component of a wider corporate event.

How many participants do you recommend?

Our crime scene team building event is designed for groups of 10 to 100+ guests. This flexibility makes it suitable for smaller departments as well as large company gatherings.

Your guests will work in teams throughout the investigation, encouraging communication and ensuring everyone has an opportunity to contribute their observations, ideas, and detective skills.

What forensic techniques will your team use?

Your investigators will suit up in forensic coveralls and attend the crime scene to search for evidence. Activities can include taking fingerprints, powdering for finger-marks, and examining evidence using techniques involving odontology, shoe marks, and DNA comparisons.

These practical elements bring the investigation to life and make the experience much more immersive than simply solving clues around a table.

Does the activity encourage teamwork?

Solving the case requires your detectives to share information, listen to different interpretations, and collectively decide which evidence matters most.

The crime scene team building event naturally develops communication, collaboration, logical thinking, and decision-making without feeling like a traditional workplace exercise. Your guests are focused on cracking the case, with valuable teamwork happening along the way.

Is this similar to a murder mystery night for corporate events?

A murder mystery night for corporate events typically focuses on characters, motives, and uncovering the identity of a killer. Our Crime Scene Investigation experience takes a more tactical and forensic approach, placing your guests directly into the role of investigators.

If you enjoy the intrigue of a murder mystery night for corporate events but want something featuring practical forensic techniques and detailed evidence analysis, this is an excellent choice.

Do participants need any previous forensic knowledge?

No previous investigative or forensic experience is required. Our detective presenter explains the activity and guides your guests through the investigation.

Everything has been designed to be accessible, entertaining, and engaging, so your team can concentrate on following the evidence and enjoying the challenge.

What happens at the end of the investigation?

Once the evidence has been examined, each team develops its final theory and presents its timeline of events. Your investigators will also hear from suspects during police interviews before discovering what really happened.

The team whose theory comes closest to the truth is announced as the winner during the final debrief.

Is the activity held indoors?

The Crime Scene Investigation event is an indoor team building activity, with your chosen venue transformed to accommodate the incident room and crime scene experience.

This makes it a dependable option throughout the year, without your event plans being dictated by unpredictable weather.

Can Firebird Events run the activity internationally?

At Firebird Events, we can deliver this experience at international destinations, making it a strong option for overseas conferences, incentives, and company gatherings.

Wherever your event takes you, our crime scene team building event offers a distinctive way to bring colleagues together around one intriguing challenge.

Is the crime scene team building event right for your company?

If you want an activity that combines competition, collaboration, forensic investigation, and plenty of suspense, the Crime Scene Investigation activity is an excellent fit. It gives your colleagues a shared objective while creating plenty of opportunities for different strengths to shine.
